Alma, a single mother, lives in an impoverished mountain town where she works as a cock fight trainer. Caught in the throes of an extremely abusive relationship, death and life converge in memories and dreams as she is remembered by someone who calls out to her soul. Inspired by true events, this film is an ode to women who suffer at the hands of violence.
Alma, una madre soltera, vive en una comunidad montuna al norte de la isla. Trabaja como entrenadora de gallos de pelea y está atrapada en una relación abusiva. La muerte y la vida convergen cuando ella es recordada por alguien que llama a su espíritu. Inspirada en hechos reales, esta película es un homenaje a las mujeres que sufren a manos de la violencia.

Raising awareness about issues pertaining to women, sexuality and spirituality within the Caribbean, LORRAINE JONES MOLINA is a Puerto Rican filmmaker who strives to use the medium as a tool for activism and healing. Winner of two Sun Coast EMMY awards for a documentary feature film and a science television show, she has also produced several award winning short films throughout the Caribbean and New York. Lorraine is the Co-Founder of the art film production company Experimento Lúdico. Most recently, she co-wrote and produced a 10 episode web series as well as a pilot for a children’s show. She also formed part of a female art collective, as the groups video artist, creating several art videos, art performances, and a short experimental film. At the moment, she has just finished her first short fiction film titled “Alma”. Currently, she is in post production of a short dance film as well as in development of a feature length film. She resides in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico with her family.
