Cineforo Caribe da la bienvenida a dos estudiosos de la historia del cine caribeño. Luciano Castillo es autor de numerosos libros sobre la historia del cine cubano. En su libro Los Viejos Cines de Puerto Rico, José Alfredo Hernández Mayoral documenta la historia de estos edificios que llama los viejos cines de Puerto Rico, o sea "los cines de barrio y de pueblo que comenzaron a surgir a finales de la primera década del siglo pasado" que "eran parte central de la vida de pueblo." Discutiremos con ellos, el cine mudo en el Caribe, los cines de aquella época, y el gran impacto de este medio tan novel en aquel entonces en la cultura y costumbres de los moradores de Cuba y Puerto Rico. Las moderadoras de Cineforo Caribe son Mary Leonard y Dunja Fehimovic.
