Save the Date! PHLAFF Returns: ¡MAY 25 – JULY 6, 2025!
It’s April, which means that spring is here and #PHLAFF2025 is just around the corner! Mark your calendars: from May 25 through July 6, all of Philadelphia will once again host our ever-growing, inclusive celebration of Latinx arts, culture, and community.
Like Memorial Day Weekend, PHLAFF is the unofficial start of summer—an alternative showcase for and by Philly’s flourishing Latinx community. Originally a weekend film festival, PHLAFF is now a year-round Latinx arts incubator that culminates in a six-week cycle of art exhibitions, pop-up events, music performances, and of course, films! One hundred eighty-four selections to be exact, including 26 world premieres and 68 debut films by emerging filmmakers, representing over 25 countries! Additional curated selections to be announced soon.
Stay tuned for our full list of 2025 official selections including the much-anticipated LOLA award nominees. This year’s competition will explore themes of connection, a mainstay of the PHLAFF experience. “Connection is at the heart of what we do each year, building community and fostering the creative collaborations that make PHLAFF such an exciting platform for new and established filmmakers alike,” says festival director Marangeli Mejía-Rabell.
Venues and lineups will be announced later this month. In the meantime, PHLAFF is proud to announce the 2025 cohort for the Los Fellows Program in collaboration with longtime festival partners PhillyCAM. Much like our Youth Salon, Latinx filmmakers and creatives will have the opportunity to take the next step in their creative journey, working in six-month cycles. You can learn more about our upcoming cohort in our latest Los News article.
Stay tuned to learn more! We can’t wait to show you what we have in store!
